A private estate,
made by hand.
Everything here was chosen, carried, planted or carved by someone who intended to stay.
A regenerated landscape of nine thousand trees and plants. A two-bedroom house of hand-carved Indian craft, set on the hill above it. Two sources of water, a river along the southern edge, and land made ready to build upon. Close to everything, and wholly apart.
The land, a living museum.
In 2013 this was abandoned pasture. Twelve rainy seasons later the canopy has closed over the paths: over a hundred fruit trees across fifty varieties, palms from four continents, flowering hardwoods, and a river along the southern boundary. The howler monkeys came back on their own. Every tree is numbered and recorded.

The residence, made by hand.
A two-bedroom home at the centre of the estate, a year and a half young. Doors carved by hand in India. Pink sandstone pillars on the veranda, warm to the touch by afternoon. Stone windows a century old. Furniture made for these rooms and nowhere else. A pool level with the treetops.
See the house
The opportunity, ready to build.
A secured water letter, a rarity in Nosara that can take years to obtain. Prepared building sites with mountain and valley views, one with a sunset view of the ocean. Gravel roads, two gated entrances, staff accommodation and storage already in place. A private estate, a family compound, or a retreat: the foundation is laid. An adjoining 16.9-acre parcel with a seasonal pond is also available.
Property details

Nothing here was ordered from a catalogue.
The doors, the pillars, the windows and the furniture were carved by hand in India and carried here. The antiques were collected over years. The stone in the walls came out of the ground you are standing on.

A house like this is not built in a year and a half. It is collected over a lifetime and then built.
